Grinders
Grinding is best done just before brewing as coffee stales within minutes of being ground. I recommend a burr grinder (like the hearthware coffee mill) to achieve a consistent grind.
If you grind too fine the coffee may taste bitter from being over extracted and can clog filters. Too coarse, and the coffee tastes thin and weak.
French press coffee makers (like the Bodum Coffee Press) require a very coarse grind, while espresso machines require a fine grind. The Chemex Coffee maker works best with a medium coarse grind. Most other drip makers work best with a medium grind. Both the Hearthware coffee mill and the Bodum grinder will produce the consistent grinds required by different style coffee makers.
