It can roast 3/4 pounds of beans in 20 min or less . . . with an amazing taste.
This unit has the largest batch size of any home roaster (12 oz or 350 g) on the market. It has the ability to roast multiple batches in a day making it the perfect choice for the larger home roaster.
While it looks and acts like a drum roaster, it is truly a hybrid conduction fluid-bed process, roasting by blowing hot air through the Vortex twisting roast chamber.
Running at about 65 Db. this is one of the quietest large home roasters we've seen.
This unit is very easy to use and clean. Manually set the time and temperature, hit the start button, and approximately 20 minutes later (depending on how you like your roast) it will kick into the cooling cycle. The cooling cycle takes about 6-10 minutes, or you can dump at any time.
With its large glass paneled roast chamber, it is very easy tell the degree of roast and due to its quiet operation you can readily hear both bean cracks.
One caution, this machine will smoke and needs to be vented. Personally I use a stovetop vent and it works fine. When roasting very dark, an alternative venting solution may be needed. We have yet to try the optional smoke filter which may be the ticket for those wanting a very dark roast.
